Cupertino Academy is accepting applications from trained Orton-Gillingham educators and others who want to support children with dyslexia. We teach in small groups of no more than four children (a 1:4 ratio), with the time and freedom to truly reach every child.
Not yet Orton-Gillingham trained? Cupertino Academy may fund approved Orton-Gillingham certification and continuing education, depending on the role and the needs of our programs. If you are the right fit for our students, talk to us about training.
Pod Teacher
Lead a pod through daily Structured Literacy instruction rooted in Orton-Gillingham principles — decoding, spelling, vocabulary, comprehension, and written expression — within one connected literacy block.
- Part-time, salaried
- Pod of 4 students (1:4 ratio)
- Daily two-hour literacy block
Tutor
Work one-to-one or in very small groups alongside our teachers, reinforcing the skills a child is building and giving extra practice where it is needed most.
- Flexible scheduling

- Close collaboration with pod teachers
Substitute
Step in when a teacher is away and keep the day steady and familiar for our students. A welcoming way to get to know Cupertino Academy from the inside.

The role
What these roles share.
Pod teachers provide a daily two-hour literacy block, plus about one hour daily for planning, assessment, communication, and collaboration — part-time, salaried, Monday through Friday. Tutoring and substitute work is arranged around your availability. Full-time opportunities may become available as Cupertino Academy grows.

Community ambassadors
Share Cupertino Academy with a family who needs it, keep a few handouts where parents will see them, or make a personal introduction. Word of mouth reaches families that advertising never will.
