Your family keeps homeschooling math, science, history, and everything else — without adding a separate ELA curriculum or outside tutoring at home.

Cupertino provides
Complete daily ELA and Orton-Gillingham instruction, progress monitoring, responsive lessons, and direct teacher–parent communication.
Families provide
Direction of your child’s overall education, all other subjects, and the Georgia home-study filings, records, and assessments.
Together we build
Goals and placement based on instructional need, an ongoing conversation about progress, and lasting confidence.
Inside the block
Two hours, one complete literacy program.
Reading, spelling, handwriting, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and writing are taught together — each one reinforcing the others.
Hour one — make the reading code explicit
- Individualized, diagnostic, and prescriptive Orton-Gillingham reading and spelling lessons
- Phonemic awareness and sound–symbol relationships
- Decoding, encoding, high-frequency words, and spelling
- Connected text, accuracy, fluency, and cumulative review
Hour two — build language and apply it
- Interactive read-alouds, discussion, and comprehension
- Oral vocabulary and background knowledge
- Grammar, sentence construction, and written expression
- Focused handwriting, and spelling applied in real writing

Cupertino Academy is a specialized educational program for students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences. Through daily, evidence-based Structured Literacy instruction delivered by highly trained teachers in exceptionally small classes, we help children build the reading, spelling, writing, and confidence they need to move forward.
Our goal is not simply to provide support. It is to equip students with the foundational literacy skills and independence necessary to thrive in the educational setting that best fits their future.
Because Cupertino Academy focuses exclusively on literacy, families remain responsible for fulfilling state homeschool requirements in subjects such as math, science, history, and electives while their child is enrolled in the program.

Students attend Cupertino Academy for intensive literacy instruction led by teachers trained to serve children with dyslexia and related learning differences. With exceptionally small class sizes and evidence-based practices, we focus on the skills children with dyslexia need most.

For some, that may mean returning to public or private school. For others, it may mean continuing on a homeschool path with stronger literacy foundations.

Assessment and shadow day
Your student completes a literacy assessment and joins a pod for a two-hour shadow experience.

Our leadership staff review the results, then we share the admissions decision and, if a place is offered, the recommended pod.
